Pac-Man is a classic game that’s as fun today as it was in 1980. The original video game icon is back. A level is advanced when all Pac-Dots have been eaten. In contrast to the 1980s original Pacman game, he has been updated, but still has all the same features. For example, it still has the four ghost characters that chase Pacman when their eyes light up. But there are also a few new twists: now you can play with friends or family members at home or online.

The 30th Anniversary And Doodle Of Google

Google is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pac today with a special doodle inspired by the classic arcade game. Google said that the idea came from a real-life lunchtime meeting in which two designers, Anton Zoic and Jeremy Dooley, were drawing pictures of themselves eating pizza and asked their co-worker Theresa Johnson to sketch some ideas on what they should draw next. One of their ideas was Pac-Man, he produced this doodle and said “Let’s make it happen”.

How Pac-Man Inspired Many Other Games

 In 1979, Japan introduced Pac-Man to the United States. Soon after, its popularity began to spread throughout the world. Playing dots and avoiding ghosts was simple, but the real hook was the display of high scores at the start of each round, which enthused players to continue playing.

“Bosconian” was one of the arcade games that inspired Pac-Man in 1980. This game had labyrinths and roads that were very similar to Pac-Man’s. A 1977 video game called Gweled (meaning “spiral” in Welsh) inspired Pac-Man. It was one of the first games to have circular mazes with branching paths and multiple exits but It is possible to consider Pac-Man a precursor to Bosconian and Gweled since it came out before both. 

Pac man has inspired games such as Pac-Man World, Ms. Pac Man and countless other Pac-Man spin-offs. It’s hard to look at Pac-Man and not see it as the genesis of so many other games.
